What to bring
The documents you need depend on what you are getting done. Here are the two most common visits.
Title transfer after buying from a private seller
- The title, signed by the seller
- A bill of sale (notarized if the vehicle is 7 years old or newer)
- Lien release, if the title shows a lien
- Your Maryland driver's license
- Proof of Maryland insurance
- Maryland inspection certificate (we can do the inspection here)
30-day temporary registration
- Proof of ownership (title or bill of sale)
- Your driver's license
- Insurance policy or binder number (no inspection certificate needed yet)
